Opportunity Overview
This position offers you the opportunity to be in on the ground floor of an exciting start-up, helping launch and ensure the success of a new contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). You will oversee a broad array of training for degreed professionals, from cross-cultural communication skills to case management to the use of high tech tools and systems. Your efforts will support a program mission that enhances the safety and security of the US. The contract calls for this program to expand significantly over time, and we're hiring with an eye on the future, seeking impact players who can thrive in our high-velocity environment and grow with the company.
You will ensure professional training for 300 to 500 employees and ICE officers, including developing and updating curriculum. You'll help manage our extensive kick-off training and, on an ongoing basis, coordinate a team of regional Training Technicians and local Peer Trainers, manage external resources, and deliver sessions yourself.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have solid training or account management experience in a service industry, preferably in a field relating to security, law, social work, detention, or corrections. You also will need training certification (such as SHRM or ASTD) and proven training and development skills. We're looking for a professional with a hands-on approach to achieving goals, such as developing materials.
You will be working for G4S and enjoy the stability and resources of a $9 billion company, the world's leading international security solutions group, operating in over 110 countries with more than 585,000 employees. Our values focus on Best People -- we always take care to employ the best people, develop their competence, provide opportunity and inspire them to live our values.
What Else You'll Bring to the Table
In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you must have:
US citizenship.
A bachelor's degree or higher.
A demonstrated ability to present information to both large and small audiences.
Training curriculum development skills.
A proven ability to produce competent PowerPoint presentations.
Excellent organizational skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Computer literacy including good Microsoft Office skills.
Sound judgment and the ability to develop and articulate rules and orders.
A strong sense of ethics and values.
Excellent analytical and operational performance skills.
Our contract with DHS ICE requires that we conduct extensive "suitability" background checks, and they will conduct their own check of all candidates' suitability for entry on duty. To pass both checks, you will need, at minimum:
A clean credit history and good current credit standing.
A criminal record clear of felonies or misdemeanors of a moral or egregious nature.
A clean driving record.
A negative result on an initial drug screen and subsequent random drug tests.
With our technical and geographical infrastructure, along with proven success on our current ICE contract, we are positioned extremely well to be awarded and exceed the performance expectations of the Intensive Supervision and Appearance Program (ISAP II) contract scheduled to be awarded on July 20th, 2009. We will look to you to begin work with G4S on the ISAP II contract beginning August 3rd, 2009 and join our week-long training program in Dallas, Texas. You will play a key role in our company's expansion as a world-class government services provider.
What's in It for You
High impact/visibility -- we'll look to you to hit the ground running, helping manage our initial training even as you are learning yourself. This will give you an opportunity to showcase your skills and establish yourself as a resource to the entire organization.
Career development -- we are projecting significant growth in the new contract; for example, the plans currently call for opening more than ten new offices next year alone. Your success in this role could set you up to pursue a number of career trajectories, depending on your ambition and aptitude. Our strong commitment to training and employee development includes: 1) initial training consisting of both informative and required DHS/ICE training; and 2) ongoing training using both face-to-face and online learning systems.
Diverse, meaningful work -- you'll leverage your resourcefulness and creativity in all aspects of training on a day-to-day basis. The services you provide will represent an alternative to detention for program participants, and support ICE' mission of upholding US law while respecting participants' rights.
Leveraging technology to create a great work environment -- while G4S is a security solutions company, technology is a core part of those solutions. We also take a proactive approach to using technology to the best advantage for our employees as well as our customers. You'll help us deliver on that commitment.
Excellent compensation -- we offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package for our full-time employees, including paid vacation, holiday and sick time, medical, flexible spending plan, dental and 401(k) matching benefits.

Acting as liaison with the RSM National Training Manager to procure up to date training manuals, training aids, and other materials relevant to the ISAP II contract.
Keys to Success
To excel in this role you will develop the overall training mission but you also will remain willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done, including creating your own PowerPoint presentations. While you must keep contract compliance at the forefront of your mind, you also will need to be creative in delivering within those guidelines.
