Opportunity Overview

This position offers you the opportunity to be in on the ground floor of an exciting start-up and help launch a new contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Not only will you deliver training that touches a lot of staff in your region (mostly degreed professionals), but you also will contribute to curriculum development and the identification of optimum delivery methods. The contract calls for this program to expand significantly over time, and we're hiring with an eye on the future, seeking impact players who can thrive in our high-velocity environment and grow with the company.

You will facilitate a broad array of training in your region utilizing various training modes. In some cases you will deliver standardized training and in others you'll work with local management to identify needs and then develop and deliver appropriate training. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will two to five years of training or account management experience in a service industry, preferably in a field relating to security, law, monitoring, social work, detention, or corrections. You also will need proven training and development skills and current training certification such as SHRM or ASTD. In addition you will need to be willing and able to travel overnight up to 40-50% of the time.

  • US citizenship.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Appropriate training, technical experience, and training certification.
  • A demonstrated ability to present information to both large and small audiences.

Our contract with DHS ICE requires that we conduct extensive "suitability" background checks, and they will conduct their own check of all candidates' suitability for entry on duty. To pass both checks, you will need, at minimum:
  • A clean credit history and good current credit standing.
  • A criminal record clear of felonies or misdemeanors of a moral or egregious nature.
  • A clean driving record.
  • A negative result on an initial drug screen and subsequent random drug tests.
With our technical and geographical infrastructure, along with proven success on our current ICE contract, we are positioned extremely well to be awarded and exceed the performance expectations of the Intensive Supervision and Appearance Program (ISAP II) contract scheduled to be awarded on July 20th, 2009. We will look to you to begin work with G4S on the ISAP II contract beginning August 3rd, 2009 and join our week-long training program in Dallas, Texas. You will play a key role in our company's expansion as a world-class government services provider.

Reporting to the Training Manager, you will become part of a team of three to four regional Training Technicians and 30 to 40 Peer Trainers in the field. You'll assist in all aspects of the formulation, achievement and review of the ISAP II Program training plan and strategy. This will include:
  • Developing and updating training curriculum regularly or as requested by the customer to ensure alignment with ISAP II policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and utilizing the most effective training delivery methods, such as webcast, teleconference, face-to-face, etc.
  • Delivering training to employees according to needs of ISAP II Program.
  • Assuming accountability for training completion of ISAP II employees with a focus on staff that have direct contact with program participants.
  • Preparing and presenting training schedule and completion reports to the ISAP II Training Manager.
  • Ensuring all new employees receive mandatory minimum initial training and required annual refresher training outlined by the contract.
  • Ensuring all management staff attends mandatory minimum initial training and required annual refresher training outlined in the contract.
  • Developing online curriculum including program questionnaires and evaluations to ensure comprehension.
  • Ensuring all staff receive training as required by law where required (such as harassment training in California).
  • Ensuring all training completion certificates are delivered to Human Resources for required record retention per the G4S Quality Assurance Director.
  • Working with the ISAP II Training Manager to identify training improvement following audits.
  • Ensuring ICE Contracting Officer's Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Detention Removal Operations (DRO) representatives receive appropriate training on software systems and the use of hardware.
  • Identifying training locations/resources as appropriate and maintaining awareness of trends in adult learning and development.
  • Ensuring training plan design meets employee needs and budget parameters.
  • Partnering with Monitoring Center Management to develop and deliver all appropriate and required training for MC staff.
  • Collaborating with IT staff to ensure technical resources are in place for training programs.
  • Ensuring best practices in training design and delivery that align with G4S values.
  • Acting as liaison with Wackenhut Training Institute to maintain all legal and other best-practice training initiatives.
