Opportunity Snapshot

This role will put you in the middle of an exciting transition with strong growth potential -- you'll join a successful program contracted with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and be on the ground floor in the conversion to a new contract. We're hiring high-energy impact players who can grow right along with us. Don't like being tied to a desk? In this position you'll spend a good deal of time in the community interacting with program participants and others, and you'll see the end results of your efforts. Assuming you're achieving your goals, we'll grant you a good deal of autonomy in setting your schedule.

Your mission will be to provide full service case management for non-US citizens whose status is under review by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), ensuring they comply with the conditions of the program. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have two years of relevant experience in law, social work, detention, corrections, or a similar field. We're looking for a professional with rock solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people. You also will need to be able to pass an extensive background check by both G4S and DHS.

You will be working for G4S on a contract with DHS and enjoy the stability and resources of G4S, the world's leading international security solutions group, operating in over 110 countries with more than 585,000 employees. Our values focus on Best People -- we always take care to employ the best people, develop their competence, provide opportunity and inspire them to live our values.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you must have: Preferred but not required: Our contract with DHS ICE requires that we conduct extensive background checks, and they will conduct their own check of all candidates' suitability for entry on duty. To pass both checks, you will need, at minimum:

What's in It for You

Flexibility -- the Supervision Specialists currently on staff, who have proven their strong sense of accountability, enjoy a degree of freedom in setting their schedules and achieving their goals. In fact, flexibility can be important in meeting with program participants in their homes or workplaces. In return, of course, we'll look for you to be flexible as well, particularly as we transition from one contract to the next (see below).

Visible results in service to your country -- you will provide services to each case from beginning to end (although you will not be an advocate for program participants), letting you see the outcome of your efforts. The services you will provide represent an alternative to detention for program participants, and you will support DHS' mission of upholding US law while respecting the rights of program participants. However, this role does not involve arresting or detaining anyone.

Career development -- we are projecting significant growth in the new contract; for example, the plans currently call for opening more than ten new offices next year alone. Your success in this role could set you up to pursue a number of paths, such as a Roving Supervision Specialist or a local program management position. Our strong commitment to training and employee development includes:

Leveraging technology to create a great work environment -- while G4S is a security solutions company, technology is a core part of those solutions. We also take a proactive approach to using technology to the best advantage for our employees as well as our customers, including maintaining strong lines of communication with all field offices regarding benefits, processes, training, forums, and other topics.

Excellent compensation -- we offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package for our full-time employees, including paid vacation, holiday and sick time, medical, flexible spending plan, dental and 401(k) matching benefits.

The Contract Transition

Since 2007 G4S has successfully run the Enhanced Supervision/Reporting (ESR) program for ICE as part of their Alternatives to Detention (ATD) Unit. We are currently bidding for the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program II (ISAP II), a program similar to ESR and, as a current and proven provider to ICE we are well-positioned to secure that contract. We have the technological infrastructure, the geographic infrastructure, and a track record of success.

The bottom line: the contract will be awarded, and employees who have been qualified will move forward with ISAP II.

You will be hired under the ESR contract and be part of the team delivering high service levels until that contract ends in September 2009. Once ISAP II launches, you will help ensure continuity in the transition, and then continue to grow and flourish with the new program.

You will develop, implement and coordinate individual service plans for the ISAP II participants, and supervise participants until disposition of their case by ICE. Service plan will require regular face-to-face monthly contacts with the participants.
